History and nature
Because of the outstanding natural beauty of the most northern corner of Lake Garda, the town of Riva is close to the hearts of many Central European artists. It also has splendid examples of its intense history, especially the medieval and Sovereign periods, such as its ancient walls, gates, towers and moats and, in particular, the Pretorio Palace and the interesting "Rocca" on the lake. Not far away, there are the resounding Cascades of Varone, the castle at Arco and the two important archaeological sites: the "Marmitte dei Giganti" (Giants' potholes) at Torbole, and the pile-dwellings at Molina di Ledro. It is also easy to get to Gardaland and Verona.
