Almost at the border with the French Alps, La Thuile is the ideal departure point for a holiday in the snow, "without frontiers", on the fabulous pistes straddling France and Italy. Located in the north-western corner of Italy, it dominates the impressive Rutor glacier and is just behind the Mont Blanc mountain range. Along the road that takes you to the "Piccolo San Bernardo" pass, La Thuile enjoys a good geographical position favouring abundant snowfalls on its pistes. The town is situated at an altitude of1450 metres and consists of a nucleus of old stone houses, full of charm and character. The welcoming and comfortable atmosphere of La Thuile is apparent in the shops and boutiques, in the restaurants and in the after dinner spots that round off the day. Also not to be missed, for a bit of relaxation, is a trip to the sparkling, cosmopolitan resort of Courmayeur, and to the beautiful and charming mediaeval castles dotted along the Aosta Valley.
