Do you know what people are looking for when they go on a winter holiday in the mountains? If I were to answer with a single word I'd say 'beauty'. And then 'rest'. And it's not only us that say this.

The national obervatory on tourism tells us that 26.6% of italians that go on holiday in the mountains in winter look for 'the natural beauty of the landscape', and 19.3% 'an ideal place to relax'. Those who practise winter sports remain strong (around a third), likewise those who pursue 'an all round experience of a mountain holiday, of the local culture and events'.

For us in Tivigest it is a confirmation of an idea that has brought us to become one of the foremost mountain holiday operators. It is for this that, since the 1970s, along with unrivalled offers for winter sports we have placed our bets on the most beautiful italian and swiss sites, Corvara, La Thuile, the Alta Engadina, and have proposed solutions that focus on the territory, art, culture and local tastes. In the mountains it is easy to find oneself, blazing down a lonely slope of the huge Mont Blanc range, or strolling along the trodden paths around the lake in St. Moritz.

This year we are adding another jewel to our crown: Sport Hotel Teresa in Pedraces, Alta Badia, a complex that is rightly among the richest in history in the Dolomites. We have inherited this great four star hotel, run for many generations by a family of the valley.

It would be a mistake to forget Hotel Schloss in Pontresina. A Swiss castle or a spa? You decide. Following its renovation the hotel offers a first class wellness service.
